Global Alliance for Artificial Intelligence (GAFAI) welcomes Ghobash Ghobash as a new Board Member

The Global Alliance for Artificial Intelligence (GAFAI) is proud to announce the appointment of H.E. Ghobash Ghobash as a Board Member. A government innovation leader, systems builder, and strategic policy advisor, H.E. Ghobash brings over two decades of experience driving public sector transformation and technology-driven governance across the United Arab Emirates.

Currently serving as Executive Director of Foresight and Innovation at the Department of Government Enablement (DGE) in Abu Dhabi, H.E. Ghobash leads major modernization efforts that strengthen service delivery, operational excellence, and cross-government collaboration. His work has pioneered the "service factory" model, reimagining public sector implementation through scalable, people-centric approaches.

Previously, he served as:

• Technical Advisor to the Statistics Centre – Abu Dhabi, supporting data governance and strategic enablement.
• Division Director of both Social Development and Human Capital at the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, where he shaped strategic policies and initiatives to uplift government capability.
• PMO Member of the Government Restructuring Committee, leading reform and change management.
• Head of Internal Audit at Musanada and earlier, an auditor at Ernst & Young.

H.E. Ghobash holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the American University – Kogod School of Business and is fluent in Arabic and English. With a strong foundation in auditing, risk management, and governance, he has consistently aligned systems and people to deliver measurable impact.

His appointment to the GAFAI Board strengthens the alliance’s strategic vision in public sector innovation, ethical AI policy, and human-centric digital governance.
